As U.S. Vogue's editor-in-chief, it is likely that few people say no to Anna Wintour.

　　Mr Testino who regularly shoots cover images for the title, and was a favourite with Princess Diana, has long been friends with Prince William.

　　He took the Royal couple's official engagement photographs last November, and it appears Ms Wintour hopes that taking advantage of this trusted relationship will give her an edge over rival titles.

　　The celebrated photographer's efforts may be in vain though. So far, the Duchess is believed to have already turned down the offer of a British Vogue cover.

　　Another source said: 'Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen. The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate.

　　The Duchess of Cambridge has been feted by the fashion world since her engagement last year. Almost every item of clothing she wears sells out, and her wedding dress, by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, was hailed an important moment for British fashion. When you usually accept a wedding invitation, your only worries are showing up at the right time, choosing your outfit, and picking up the perfect gift while you're at it. Those who agreed to take part in Elena De Angelis wedding had a more important role than you might expect: everyone had to carry the 1.8 mile (over 3 kilometers) long veil on their way to the church. As you might expect, this wasn't a close friends and family type wedding; more than 600 people took part in this record breaking event and all of them got a chance to touch this magnificent part of the bridal outfit.

 
This special wedding took place in Naples, Italy and the happy couple Elena de Angelis and Ferdinand Pucci needed the help of Gianni Molaro Campania, a famous Italian designer. Hundreds of people were assigned with the difficult task of creating this veil and they used over 3.6 miles of material in the process. The wedding took the village of Casal di Princice by surprise and everyone seemed to have a clear role. The couple took a classical car ride towards the church and the villagers helped with the veil along the way. If you want to put it into perspective, this headpiece was longer than 7 Empire State Buildings put together or about as long as the Golden Gate Bridge. The Guinness Book of World Records is said to confirm the record in the next few days, which means that it will take a while until another bride comes up with an even longer veil on her special day.
The only thing the bride didn't share is if the search for the perfect veil was longer than the search for the perfect wedding dress , but considering the amount of planning behind this feat, it is safe to say that the headpiece was the priority for Elena De Angelis.

Incredible shrinking woman ... Ricki Lake postpones wedding dress purchase.

Actress Ricki Lake has postponed wedding dress fittings ahead of her upcoming nuptials, because competing in Dancing With the Stars is dramatically changing her figure.

The Hairspray star has been dating Christian Evans since 2010 and he proposed to the former talk show host in August.

Lake is busy planning their big day, but tells People she is in no rush to choose a bridal dress while she is in training for the US reality TV show.

"I haven't dealt with that (wedding dress shopping) yet. I'm going to wait until I can go as far as I can go in this competition (to get my body in the best shape), then start trying on dresses," she says.

While the actress has lost significant amounts of weight in the past, this time it's different, she says.

"A couple of years ago I weighed less than I do now ... but I didn't work out with that - it was a crash diet.

"Now muscles I didn't know I had are defined. It's dramatic. Everyone is seeing it, and they are telling me, but I see it and I'm a tough critic."

Ricki Lake has been busy planning her wedding to fiancé Christian Evans. She has a location, a photographer and a florist.
But there is one major detail she has yet to finalize: her wedding dress.
"I haven't dealt with that yet," the Dancing with the Stars contestant, 43, told PEOPLE at Variety's Power Of Women Event in Beverly Hills. "I'm going to wait until I can go as far as I can go in this competition [to get my body in the best shape], then start trying on bridal gown."
And she is well on her way. "When I lost weight a couple years ago, I weighed less than I do now, probably 10 pounds. But there is a difference. I didn't work out with that – it was a crash diet," Lake said. "Now muscles I didn't know I had are defined. It's dramatic. Everyone is seeing it, and they are telling me, but I see it and I'm a tough critic."
The former talk show host is as dedicated to winning the mirror-ball trophy as she is to losing weight.

"I'm really taking care of myself and committing," Lake, whose pro partner is Derek Hough, said. "I'm getting enough sleep and not really having late nights. I'm having to skip really fun things because I want to do as well as I can."
But she's not letting her competitive nature get the best of her. "Initially, honestly, I wanted to win," she says. "Now that I've been working with all these people and they are all my friends, it's really about ... learning these amazing, beautiful dances and getting my body in the best shape I possibly can."
Whether or not she finishes Dancing a champion, Lake has a lot to look forward to when she and Evans tie the knot. "I met the best guy in the whole wide world," she says. "I have so many great professional things happening – I have a new talk show, a book coming out, all amazing – but I wouldn't want any of it without him."

Wedding gowns, ranging in styles from the 1850s to one from a marriage this year, were modeled by girls ages 12 to 16 at an event sponsored by the Mount Morris Historical Society in the United Church of Mount Morris last Sunday.

Most of the gowns belonged to Mount Morris women who were married in them, and their names were announced as the models walked down the church aisle.

Besides the traditional white dresses that varied in the style of the time period, there were some styles which were not usually associated with wedding attire.

One such style was a black wedding dress representing the mid-19th century period. White gowns didn’t come into vogue until the early 1900S said Narrator ‘Smidge’ Stevens. A 1920S flapper-style gown and one worn in a traditional Scottish wedding were also in the show.

The event was not only nostalgic, educational and entertaining, but the five dollar ticket price also served as fund raiser for the historical society; a reception at the VFW followed.

With all eyes on her wardrobe, dresses have sold out hours after she has worn them as women seek to copy her style.

"I think she is the new queen of fashion ... She's young, she's every little girl's dream and she always looks chic and sophisticated," Britain's Julien Macdonald told reporters after his spring/summer 2012 womenswear show.

Middleton is as likely to wear designer clothes as high street ones. The 29-year old, now known as the Duchess of Cambridge, has been praised for wearing more affordable main street labels and has been snapped wearing clothes by British fashion retailers Reiss as well as Whistles and Spain's Zara.

A blue Issa crossover knee-length dress that she wore when her engagement to William was announced sold out within 24 hours and cheap knock-offs vanished almost instantly.

"I think she is great, I'm very fortunate that she likes to wear Issa," the label's designer Daniella Helayel told the reporters.

London has overtaken New York as the world's fashion capital for 2011, fueled by media interest in late British designer Alexander McQueen and Middleton, according to a survey by the Global Language Monitor released in August.
